Beautiful day on the trail! After going longer than planned yesterday, today’s hike into Flagstaff was relatively short—only 14 miles, and I made it in time for lunch at the Mexican place right off the trail (take out, of course)!
The trail was beautiful today—a bit windy (I feel like that’s going to be the weather theme up in this part of the state this time of year), but sunny with lots of views to the SF Peaks and other assorted natural beauty. As I got closer to town I started seeing lots of trail runners—which makes me happy. All trail users were very strict about the six-foot rule when passing, and I’m happy to report that I saw no groups larger than 2 running / hiking together.
I met Parker & the kids in town and am clean, well-fed, and having a beer, while planning the next 2 (final!) legs of my adventure. It’s gonna be a little tricky to get me around to the other side of The Grand Canyon, but I think we have a plan—I’m not going to make it by Easter, which was my original goal, but if I can make it to Utah, I’m gonna declare victory … and give Parker a raise!
